Leather fair to open on Tuesday

The 21st annual edition of India International Leather Fair will be held in Chennai between Jan 31 and Feb 3.

The 21st annual edition of India International Leather Fair, which will be held in Chennai between Jan 31 and Feb 3, will see participation by over 320 companies, including 107 from 21 countries, a senior official said on Monday.

This year's edition is slated to be the biggest convergence held so far and expected to attract as many as 300 foreign visitors, besides over 9,000 trade visitors, Rafeeque Ahmed, Chairman, Council for Leather Exports said.

India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the premier trade promotion agency of the Union Commerce and Industry Ministry, is organising the event in collaboration with the Council for Leather Exports and leather associations like Indian Shoe Federation and Indian Footwear Leather Manufacturers and Exporters Assocation.

IILF will be inaugurated by the Union Minister for IT and Communication, Dayanidhi Maran and Union Minister of State for Textiles, EVKS Elangovan on Tuesday.
