Left, BSP, UNPA chalk out strategy

A day after failing to topple the government over the nuclear deal issue, leaders of Left parties, BSP and UNPA met on Wednesday to chalk out their future course of action.

The meeting, held at the residence of BSP supremo Mayawati in New Delhi, was attended among others by Prakash Karat (CPI-M), A B Bardhan and D Raja (CPI), HD Deve Gowda (JD-S), G Devrajan (Forward Bloc), Abani Ray (RSP), Ajit Singh (RLD), N Chandrababu Naidu (TDP), K Chandrashekhar Rao (TRS), Ajay Chauthala (INLD) and Babulal Marandi (Jharkhand Vikas Morcha).

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and son of Deve Gowda, HD Kumaraswamy, who left the meeting for a prior engagement, told reporters that JD (S) would "strengthen" Mayawati by "collaborating" with her. "We would like to strengthen Third Front in Karnataka", he said.
