The note was sent to the office of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Left sources said. The note was prepared by a group of nuclear experts headed by former director of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board A Gopalakrishan.

The contents of the notes were discussed and finalised in a meeting of the four Left parties on Thursday.

The government representatives in the committee are expected to reply to the note on or before September 17. The second meeting of the UPA-Left committee is slated for September 19.
