Accusing the government for "messing up" its policies on these issues, the four Left parties appealed to non-Congress UPA partners to put pressure on the government to effect a change in the policies.
After a three-hour meeting, CPI General Secretary AB Bardhan said the parties have decided to launch a nationwide agitation, including demonstrations and rallies, from July 13 to 19.
"The government has messed up the whole issue," Bardhan said.
