The worst was feared for 34-year-old Lehmann when he was left out of Australia's winning third Test side against Pakistan last weekend after a run of low scores, but he was there when the one-day squad was announced on Saturday.

"Having him in our one-day squad, he virtually picked himself," chairman of selectors Trevor Hohns said.

"He did so well against New Zealand recently and he's done very, very well for us.

"He's also a very highly thought of senior player within the group, he's helped (captain) Ricky Ponting enormously over a period of time now.

"He looks after the young fellas so right now we didn't think it was necessary to move on from him in the one-day game."
