Lenovo opens first innovation centre in India

The India centre, located in Mumbai, will be Lenovo's third innovation centre globally after China and the US.

Chinese personal computer major Lenovo on Thursday announced the launch of its first innovation centre in India in partnership with global giants like Intel, Microsoft, IBM and Cisco, which would focus on the development of new PC solutions.

The India centre, located in Mumbai, would be Lenovo's third innovation centre globally after China and the US.

The company said in a release that the centre would enable large enterprise and mid-market customers, business partners, solution providers and independent software vendors to collaborate on new personal computing solutions.

Intel, Microsoft, LANDesk, IBM and Cisco will partner with Lenovo at the India Innovation Center to showcase new enterprise level PC solutions in areas such as hardware platform and application integration, active management technology, network connectivity and power management.

Lenovo Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Deepak Advani said the company aims to accelerate innovation for diverse client challenges and developing markets with this centre.

"The India Innovation Center will serve as a collaboration venue for fully integrated solutions along with our alliance partners," he added.
