The 66th Cannes Film Festival concluded on Sunday with French-Tunisian director Abdellatif Kechiche’s film about a lesbian love affair, La Vie d’Adele, Chapitre 1&2 (Blue is the Warmest Colour), taking the prestigious Palme d’Or award. Actors Adele Exarchopoulos and Lea Seydoux kissed the director as they got emotional on the stage.

Uma Thurman in an Atelier Versace satin gown and Nicole Kidman in a Giorgio Armani white silk gown were the show stealers on the red carpet at the festival’s closing ceremony.

Another highlight of the day was Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former head of the International Monetary Fund, who appeared in public for the first time with his girlfriend Myriam L’Aouffir at the screening of Only Lovers Left Alive.
