The mystery over the theft at the palace of Ranjitsinhji Maharaj has deepened with an aide of the royal family today claiming that there was less possibility of his belongings being stolen.
"The property is spread in 15-20 acres land. Also, there are number of antiques belonging to Ranjitsinhji's ancestors which could be over 200 years old," said a close aide of Jam Shatrushaliaji, who is decedent of Ranjitsinhji and present owner of the Jam Bungalow (palace), on condition of anonymity.
"What all things are missing from the palace in the burglary could only be known after Shatrushaliaji comes as only he has the list of items kept in the palace. He is likely to arrive in a week or two as he was busy in some pre-scheduled meetings," he said.
"The possibility of Ranjitsinhji's belongings, including his cricket bat, going missing is less as most of them had been shifted to other palace by Shatrushaliaji. Shatrushalijai has told this to us now. But what exactly is stolen could be know only after he comes," he added.
Meanwhile, sources in the Jamnagar police said that they have got a few leads and are tracing some mobile phone numbers. They said antique dealers in the district and other important places in the state are being questioned.
