They claimed residents will have to bear only one hour of power cut this summer season.

For this purpose, the power distribution and transmission system is being augmented and maintenance is being done on a large scale, officials said.

“We have augmented the capacity of our sub-stations at DLF Phase 4, Dundahera, Udyog Vihar, Sector-10A, Badshahpur and Sector-4 IMT Manesar. There are other projects of building new sub-stations which will reduce the load on the existing ones,” said Rajesh Gupta, superintending engineer (SE), Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN).

Besides, the 1,500 MW Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project, which will supply 750 MW each to Haryana and Delhi, is near completion. Set up by Aravali Power Company Private Ltd, it is a joint venture between NTPC, Indraprastha Power Generation Company Ltd and Haryana Power Generation Company.

For DLF City residents, DHBVN has taken up a R20 crore project to improve the system. DHBVN has also added 100 transformers to the existing 10,000 ones.
