Actress Deepika Padukone has trashed rumours of her younger sister, Anisha, joining Bollywood. “She is not doing any Bollywood films. She is least interested in this industry. And even though she is very supportive of my career, I know for a fact that this is not her area of interest,” said Deepika, adding that they do like watching movies together. Talking about beau Ranbir Kapoor’s Wake Up Sid, which is incidentally the last film she saw, Deepika says, “I saw the film and they all have done a fantastic job in it.”

Deepika is also all praise for Ranbir and Konkona’s on-screen chemistry. “It is not a typical pairing and I know a lot of people had apprehensions about them being cast opposite each other. But I knew it would work well — I got convinced when director Ayan Mukherji came and discussed the film with Ranbir. I think their chemistry worked really well,” she said. Ask her if Ranbir is anything like his character in real life, and she interrupts, “Not at all, he is not a slacker boy at all. No one has ever needed to wake him up. He is always very focussed about what he wants to do.”

Deepika now has Karthik Calling Karthik and Housefull as her upcoming releases, and will start shooting for Yash Raj Films’ next with Neil Nitin Mukesh in January next year. Signing a YRF film at a time when most of their releases have bombed at the box office is, according to her, a risk worth taking. “Everyone goes through their ups and down, and I don’t think I would like to judge a director or a production house on the basis of their previous hits and flop. It is one’s talent that will fetch appreciation.”

“I see absolutely no difference in working with an actor who is as young as Ranbir or older ones like Akshay or Shah Rukh. Age and experience does not matter. At the end of the day, their passion, dedication and commitment with which they work inspires me the most. It is not important whether I’m working with a 20-year-old or a 40-year-old.”
