LIC official arrested for accepting bribe

An assistant branch manager in Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India, in Rourkela, was arrested by the CBI for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from an agent.

An assistant branch manager in Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India, in Rourkela, was arrested by the CBI for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from an agent.

CBI sources said today assistant branch manager S S Prusti had demanded the bribe to release the agent's commission amount of Rs.10,000, which was withheld by the official.

On the complaint of the agent, CBI sleuths caught Prusti while accepting the bribe at his office. The bribe money was later seized.
