Three people were killed when lightning struck them in separate incidents, following heavy rains in Nashik city for the fifth consecutive day disrupting normal life in many areas, police said on Friday.

Many streets were flooded after 45mm rains were recorded in the city within one and a half hour on Thursday, leading to waterlogging in hutments in Nashik, they added.

Many poles and trees were also uprooted affecting power supply in different parts of the city, sources said.

The victims including a girl have not been identified yet.
