Top seed Lindsay Davenport coasted into the Australian Open quarter-finals on Sunday with a 6-2, 6-4 drubbing of former US Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova.
The American 29-year-old was in command from the outset under the closed roof of the Rod Laver Arena and wasted little energy in the 59 minute victory over the Russian.
She will next play Belgian number eight seed Justine Henin-Hardenne.
Temperatures are forecast to be 43 Celsius (109 Fahrenheit) Sunday and the roofs of the two main stadiums here have been shut.
