List of infiltration attempts through Poonch

Here's a list of earlier infiltration attempts that have been made in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

August 7th, 2009 - The Indian Army foiled an attempt by five militants to cross the Line of Control (LoC) from the Jabbi post in the Mandi sector of Poonch district on Thursday.

August 05, 2009 - Security forces killed nine militants, including a self-styled section commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, in four separate encounters near the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir. The Army foiled an infiltration attempt by Pak trained militants in Poonch area in Jammu division.

Mar 23, 2009 - Police have seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch District.

Oct 14, 2008 - Army troops foil fourth infiltration attempt in five days and shot dead a Pakistani militant in a gunbattle in Poonch district.

Oct 11, 2008 - Army foils infiltration attempt, one militant killed.

Feb 27, 2008 - The army fights off infiltrators even as there's heavy snowfall in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Aug 3, 2007 - Security forces foiled an infiltration bid and gunned down two infiltrators near LoC in Poonch district.

May 27, 2007 - The Indian army foiled a major infiltration attempt by militants across the Line of Control into Poonch. A jawan was killed and another injured.

6 May, 2002 - Pakistan army made an unsuccessful attempt to storm Indian army’s forward posts in six vehicles loaded with arms and explosives through Khari Karmara village in Poonch sector.
