Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday expressed the hope that the country would heed former president APJ Abdul Kalam's advice on going ahead with the Indo-US civilian nuclear energy deal.
"We hope the country will listen to the voice of wisdom," Manmohan Singh told reporters on the sidelines of a civil investiture ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the evening.
The former president, who was then chief of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), was among a handful of scientists who were at the nuclear explosion site at Pokhran on May 11 and 13, 1998.
