Having scraped through with just a first division in my Class 12, I was a worried young man, as I rushed from one college to another to fill up the forms in various colleges in the Capital. The cut-offs had not touched the 100% mark then, yet, it was quite demanding.

Since, I wanted to pursue Bcom, I carefully listed out a few colleges, where the cut-off needed matched my percentage. Optimistic, it may sound, I filled up my forms and waited for the lists to come out. My parents had already given up hope of me getting into any good college and asked me look for other options.

Under pressure, I applied in IIMC, a journalism institute, about which I had heard from my friends. Meanwhile, the first list was out and as expected, I found no takers. So, patiently I waited for the second list, knowing chances were dim. The night before, I couldn't sleep. The next morning, I woke up early and left to check out if my name figured in the list.

I had consultations with my parents, friends and teachers and finally, decided to go for the later and joined IIMC, a career, which I had never dreamt of.

Here I am, presently working in Yahoo India, in Bangalore, having worked in other reputed organisations in Delhi before. And as Richard Bach had once said, "Some choices we live not only once but a thousand times over, remembering them for the rest of our lives".

So, here I am living my choice, a choice to be a journalist!
