"We know that Congress is averse to an alliance with RJD...but we have made it clear that our alliance with RJD will remain intact," he told newsmen, a day after being elected to Rajya Sabha.

The RJD-LJP alliance is so strong that it will pave the way for ouster of the NDA government in Bihar, he claimed.

Paswan said he would launch a joint campaign with Lalu Prasad Yadav for Bihar assembly elections, scheduled for later this year.

Referring to his win in the Rajya Sabha polls on Thursday, Paswan said it was a victory for both RJD and LJP.

"People wanted to defame Bihar by way of horse-trading MLAs in favour of a businessman BG Uday, who played the villain.... Fortunately, their plan failed," he alleged.

He also asked the CPI for firming up an alliance with RJD-LJP for the polls.
