According to the Urban Development Department officials, the election will be held in three phases on October 28, 31 and November 3. “The counting of papers will be completed on November 6 and the results will be declared on the same date,” the officials said.

On Wednesday, the State Government urged the SEC to give its consent to the proposed dates. According to the SEC officials, no amendment was done in the dates of the election programme. “We are prepared for the election,” the officials add.

It may be mentioned here that the Allahabad High Court has asked the government to file an affidavit in the court on Friday listing reasons for the delay in holding the election.
