“I’m in a serious relationship with myself,” quipped Kunal. There’s little chance of a change in status either: “That possibility is close to zero.”

That’s not to say that Kunal wants to be alone forever. “I do [want a partner] but I don’t want to make it the talk of the town. The relationship should remain between her and me.”

Explaining his stand, Kunal said: “Otherwise it becomes a series of explanations. First you have to explain where you met, then you have to talk about why you like each other, then what you are doing on Valentine’s Day. If it doesn’t work out you have to talk about that too.”

He’s very clear about the kind of girl he wants. “My needs are very basic, she should be intelligent, rich, compassionate and give my space to me,” he laughs. In town to shoot an ad for Mahindra Logan, Kunal was last in the Capital for Rang De Basanti, his ride to the big time."

It’s been a long hiatus from the big screen, but the actor assures that “you will get to see much more of me next year.” Meanwhile he’s been busy reading scripts. And even writing one of them. “It’ll go on the floors in January,” he announced.
