What is the current situation of road safety and traffic in the city?
No doubt, the situation is not up to the mark as per the city standards. However, we are doing our job to change it. The city needs FOBs, subways, parking lots, footpaths and other basic facilities for commuters. Though it is a time-taking process, but things would certainly change in the near future.
Why these basic facilities have not been provided by the civic agencies?
A lot of work needs to be done as the city has slowly emerged as a business hub. Lot of infrastructure work has to be done as a top priority. We are trying to provide basic facilities to the residents as soon as possible.
The traffic police have sent a number of letters to all concerned agencies regarding the absence of facilities. But, the issues have not been addressed yet by the civic agencies. Why?
This is not a case of ignorance. We are serious about the lapses. We have forwarded recommendations to the concerned departments.
Don't you think there is a lack of coordination among all the concerned agencies?
I don't think so. We all are independent units and have our own responsibilities to fulfill. Though, there is a need for a will to address these issues. The city will get a solution for traffic-related problems soon.
