Hotel Yogi Mid Town’s Lounge Café, at Turbhe, Navi Mumbai, is a mix of elements: the good and the not so good.
Since it’s a must to be positive, let’s start with the good. The lounge café has attractive and comfortable seating set up over wooden flooring. The seats range from sofas, and cushioned chairs to mauve matte egg-shaped ones.
Heavy metal
There are metallic black and blue ones too.. for the lazier breed of cocktail sippers.
Piped instrumental music blends nicely with a Bloody Mary. Plus the location – off the highway – is ideal for those looking for a chill-out halt.
The menu stars kababs, grilled snacks, mocktails, cocktails, sandwiches and the customary etceteraras. That half the listed dishes are “not in stock today, madame” is another story. So, Emerald Envy (Rs 250) a shake-up of vodka, crème de menthe and lemonade is served with Blue Curacao . Crème is not in the house. The bar is dominated essentially by whisky, vodka and rum.
Smoked Chicken Salad (Rs 140) is a satisfying starter. Prawn Butterfly (Rs 300) served with tartar, is palatable. Spaghetti Pasta with lemo-cream (Rs 200) brings on the scowls though.

Those with no company, or unwanted company, can people watch. And the menu card is confusing. A few dishes have the same brief, and some prices face the wrong dish.
Whether the lounge-cum-café concept will click or not is debatable. But dimming the lights and preventing passers-by from gaping inside, making you feel like a zoo specimen would be an enormous relief.
