Upset after learning that marriage of the woman he loved has been fixed with another man, a 29-year-old Lt Commander of Western Naval Command, Goa, allegedly committed suicide in his house in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.

Lt Commander T Thangadurai (29), who was on leave, took the extreme step after learning about the arranged marriage, police said.

A suicide note mentioning his 'failure' in love as the reason for committing suicide was recovered from the house, they said.

Thangadurai was staying with his parents. His father was a former Naval employee.
