An LTTE member has been arrested and some communication equipment including a global positioning system (GPS) device seized from him, police said in Chennai on Saturday.
The 'Q' Branch wing of the Tamil Nadu police, which deals with extremist activities, arrested Muthanna from Chennai yesterday on specific information given by Jayanathan, another arrested member of the banned militant outfit.

Muthanna had come from Mullaitheevu in Sri Lanka where the army is engaged in a fierce battle with LTTE and had told police that he was part of the outfit's procurement module, 'Q' Branch sources said.
Two satellite phones were also recovered from Muthanna, who was remanded to judicial custody on Saturday.
