LU eyes Murthy, Ambani for function

LUCKNOW UNIVERSITY officials have started preparing for the forthcoming convocation. The exercise to look for the chief guest has begun. Some of the names that have been discussed in the meeting include ISRO chief Dr Kasturirangan, Infosys former chief Narayan Murthy, Mukesh Ambani of Reliance and academician Dr MN Sharma.

The varsity has decided to keep off political bigwigs and is looking for someone from the field of science or business or an industrial tycoon for the convocation ceremony. At a primary level meeting, top officials of the varsity discussed the possibility on the aforesaid four names.

The proposals would shortly be sent to the Governor for approval.
