According to officials, some villagers discovered the carcasses of the peacocks early in the morning. The peacocks were found lying near the fields. Subsequently, villagers from the entire area assembled and the forest officials were alerted about the incident.

It is being assumed that peacocks died after consuming poisonous grains sprinkled in the fields. However, as the matter is related to peacocks, which is protected species, the forest officials have sent the peacocks for a post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death.

"The peacocks were found dead near fields where poisonous grains for rats were freshly sprinkled. It is likely that they died after eating the grain. However, we still want to confirm the reasons," said a forest official on the condition of anonymity.
