Internal dissention in the Congress party appears to be increasing day by day. After the resignation of former Madhya Pradesh state Congress vice-president Manak Agrawal, it was the turn of former Congress MP Premchand Guddu to resign from all party posts.

Guddu is peeved with the ticket distribution of the Congress party for the civic polls and has charged that the Congress candidate for Mahidpur municipality chairman Kayyum Nagori is a Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activist. Guddu also slammed state Congress president Arun Yadav for distributing tickets arbitrarily.

Taking umbrage over Guddu's allegation, Nagori has demanded that Guddu be sacked from the party. Nagori said that he has canvassed for Guddu in the last three elections, and asked why Guddu had not raised this issue at that time.

Denying that he was ever member of SIMI, Nagori said that Guddu was using pressure tactics to get ticket for his own followers. Nagori, who is known to be close to Arun Yadav, alleged that Guddu has caused huge damage to Congress party in the entire Ujjain Lok Sabha constituency and therefore should be thrown out of the party. Nagori also threatened to move court against Guddu for defaming him.
