According to police sources, both were arrested at 1.30 am on charges of destruction of evidence.

Sharma and the staffer, identified as Ganesh, had apparently cleaned up the Mahajan residence here after Rahul and Bibek Moitra, the deceased personal aide of the senior Mahajan, had vomited after consuming champagne and drugs. They had also hidden the champagne bottles.

Rahul, who was in the police lock-up, reportedly had dinner on Tuesday at the police mess itself.

A senior police official said that Rahul and Sahil Zarru, the youth accused of delivering the contraband at the Mahajan residence, were taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday for a routine medical examination. They are to be examined every 48 hours.
