ANNOYED OVER the poor maintenance of elevators and shortage of drinking water in the new building of the Kanpur court, members of the Central Bar Association (CBA) have threatened to demonstrate if corrective measures were not taken within three days.
General secretary of the CBA Praveen Fighter alleged for poor maintenance of lift services and drinking water in the new building of Kanpur court.
Fighter stated that all five lifts, including one being used by officers, were not functioning for the last 15 days. Therefore, all advocates, clients and officers were facing problems in attending jobs in the five-storey building. He accused officials of the Nazarat of negligence and said that no efforts were being taken to solve the problems.
The non-availability of drinking water at all floors of the building was causing inconvenience to nearly 20,000 clients, who visit the court and its offices daily.
Fighter further stated that Kanpur Court was the maximum contributor to the State’s revenue, but in terms of facilities it was the worst.
He warned the concern official of the Nazarat to make necessary arrangements within three days or face protest.
