Major administrative reshuffle in J&K

In a major administrative reshuffle, the Jammu and Kahsmir government transferred and posted 37 IAS, IFS and KAS officers, including seven deputy commissioners, and promoted eight SSPs to DIGs in the state.

In a major administrative reshuffle, the Jammu and Kahsmir government on Saturday transferred and posted 37 IAS, IFS and KAS officers, including seven deputy commissioners, and promoted eight SSPs to DIGs in the state.

The decision about these transfers and promotions were taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here, an official spokesman said.

These transfers and postings in the administration, which will have immediate effect, also include deputy commissioners of seven districts - Anantnag, Kulgam, Kupwara, Bandipora, Baramulla, Kishtwar and Rajouri.

Labour Commissioner Bishen Dass Sharma (IAS) has been transferred and posted as Settlement Commissioner replacing Dr GR Ghani who will now report to the general administration department for further orders of posting.

Director of Local Bodies, Kashmir, Abdul Hamid Wani (IAS) has been transferred and posted as Labour Commissioner while Special Secretary, Revenue, Guldev Raj Bhagat (IAS) has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar replacing Sudershan Sharma.
