THE ANNUAL Magh Mela will begin from January 14 with the Makar Sankranti dip on the day. This more than one month religious fair will come to an end on Shivratri on February 26 following a dip by the devotees in the holy waters of the Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati.

What adds colour to this annual fair is the congregation of lakhs of devotees who camp on the bank of Sangam for kalpvas which lasts till the mela winds up.
The arrival of ‘akharas’ from far is almost over for one of its kind Mela.
