I am planning to convert my kitchen to an open plan and combine it with the dining room, as by themselves these are very small. Since we are a family of three, I don’t need a big dining table. What can I use as furniture that will be practical and look good too?

It is a great idea to integrate the kitchen and the dining room, especially when you are a small family. You could go in for an island counter in the centre of the room now that you have a bigger space, as this can also be used for storage. However, this would take a lot of space as compared to a pub table. Pub tables are great for dining as well as entertaining. They can be crafted from different materials and finished in a number of ways. For example, you could go in for a cherry vinyl top and steel base for that soda shop or diner look or keep it straight-lined to get a modern look.
