Divisional Commissioner, RN Tripathi has come up with a project of making manure from flowers offered to river Ganga and dieties at temples. The plan was chalked out at the premises of Bade Hanuman temple situated at Bandh near Sangam.

The flowers offered at the temple were dumped as a garbage and then immersed in Ganga. This caused pollution besides hindering the flow of the river due poor flow. Commissioner observed the situation and came up with the solution of re-using the flowers as manure.
He started this project along with Mahant Narendra Giri of temple by loading the flowers on tractor-trolleys for recycling them into manure.
The Commissioner said that the flowers make a good quality bio fertiliser. He expressed the hope that devotees will offer the flowers to river Ganga and then take them back instead of immersing them into the river. It will help contain pollution in the river to a greast extent. This will be the obeisance to the holy river, he added. This manure could be used in flower nurseries.
