Coroner Mohammed Faizi Che Abu fixed three days from March 16 for the enquiry after deputy public prosecutor Geethan Ram Vincent appeared in the court along with Sujatha's family lawyer K. Kumaraendran and S. Satharuban, counsel for one of the doctors who had treated Sujatha and other parties involved.

Sujatha, 29, died on June 25, 2007 at a hospital where she had been admitted four days earlier after swallowing a weed killer.

Police initially termed it a sudden death but later said there were "some criminal elements" linked to the case, the New Straits Times reported Saturday.

Sujatha, a singer, had also acted in several Tamil dramas, movies and commercials. Her last acting stints were in local movies "Noorhalizah" and "Yantra".

Paari was the managing director of Maika Holdings, a commercial front of the party.
