Separatist JKLF chief Yasin Malik ended his 30-hour fast to oppose separate Pandit townships on Sunday but a joint resolution asked the displaced population to return to their home and hearth.
Malik had organised a daylong seminar in Srinagar to deliberate upon the Pandit issue and their return. Dozens of separatist leaders and members of the civil society, including religious leaders, presented their viewpoint on the return of Pandits.
The seminar comes in the background of the recent move of the state and the Union governments to procure land for separate "composite townships" in Kashmir, which sparked opposition from the Valley-based mainstream and separatist leaders.
The joint resolution passed on the occasion reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir belongs to all the state subjects irrespective of their caste and creed. "Every state subject who got dislocated from Jammu Kashmir in 1947, 1965, 1971 and 1990 has an inalienable right to settle in any part of the JK with honour, dignity and security," reads the resolution.
It was also resolved unanimously that Pandits, who got dislocated in 1990, should return to their homes and hearths in Kashmir. "They will be welcome to restore the proverbial ethos of Kashmir represented by amity, harmony and brotherhood among the various communities," it said.

{{/usCountry}}It was also resolved that the settlement of Pandits in separate colonies and ghettos in Kashmir is unacceptable to all Kashmiri Muslims, Pandits, Sikhs and Christians. "It will create walls of hatred among the communities here and will erode the age old trust between the communities," read the resolution.
It was resolved that Kashmiri Muslims and Pandits along with other communities should fight together in tandem with each other against the suppression and oppression faced by the people of Kashmir.
"A credible international probe should investigate the reasons and circumstances under which the Pandits got dislocated from Kashmir in 1990 and fix the responsibility for their exit from Kashmir. The said probe may also go into the exact number of the minority community, who got dislocated in 1990," demanded the joint resolution.
