After returning from New York, where she studied Fashion Merchandising and Buying at F.I.T. (Fashion Institute of Technology), she came back and tried her hand at a number of exciting and successful ventures such as nightclubs, television and design.

Nearly 5 years later she narrowed it down to her favourite thing…making women feel and look glamorous by designing sexy clothes for them.

One of Malini's rules is to only create things that she would love to wear herself…she loves colour, shine, embroidery, plunging necklines, and lots of glamour. Think…" Millennium Indian Love Goddess"

Fashion to her is not simply making clothes but transferring glamour from herself to her client.

She now sells in many leading stores all over the country and has 2 flagship stores of her own in Delhi and Goa. She is in fact the first designer to open her own store in Goa (which is a second home to her). She loves designing dramatic resort wear with a "hippie-deluxe" edge to it which is what Goa represents to her.

Today her fresh, sexy, sparkling clothes are seen on the cocktail circuit from Mumbai to Monte Carlo to Phuket. She has been especially successful in appealing to younger clients and her label is very popular with many Bollywood starlets.

Malini herself has been featured in noteworthy publications such as Elle, Marie Claire and Newsweek (who did a profile on the designer and her highly publicized Indian Flag Dress). She is also a hot favourite with Cosmopolitan that has featured her clothes on its cover numerous times.
