The district administration has completed its investigation into two accidents that took place during the inauguration ceremony of the Great Adventure Mall in Greater Noida in April.
The probe committee, which has submitted its report to the district magistrate, is said to have recommended action against the mall management. The DM is yet to take his view on the matter.
A three-member committee headed by then Greater Noida city magistrate Vijay Pal, entertainment tax assistant commissioner RK Singh and a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) was set up to probe into the accidents in which a bungee-jumping instructor fell to death and Bollywood actress Sayali Bhagat had his hand fractured while doing stunts.
Anju Lata, who has now replaced Vijay Pal as Greater Noida's city magistrate, told Hindustan Times on Saturday, "We have recorded the statements of officials of AMR Infrastructure and others." The AMR Infrastructure is responsible for the mall management.
Government officials earlier hinted better preparedness would have averted the tragedies. The probe committee recently said it was inquiring the negligence angle to find out why permission was not taken and why necessary safety measures were not put in place.
"The mall had taken permission only for a 30-minute event featuring a union minister's arrival in a helicopter. The district administration had not allowed any adventure sports," the former city magistrate had said.

{{/usCountry}}Greater Noida fire station officer, Akshay Niranjan Sharma, said, "As a primary safety measure, the company should have put in place a rope net below so that in the event of an accidental fall, the same could be broken and lives saved. This clearly points to negligence on the part of the company."
"We had given permission only for the minister's stay. For that there were adequate safety measures. Sports safety inspection does not come under purview," he said.
On April 7 this year, 26-year-old Shailendra Kumar Bisht, a bungee-jumping instructor, was rappelling down the outer glass walls of the mall when he fell 50 feet to his death after an equipment snag. The inauguration of the mall was further marred by another accident that left Bollywood actress Sayali Bhagat with a fractured hand after a car stunt went wrong.
