S Chandra Sristi, promoter of Zen Cybertech in Khairatabad near Hyderabad, was arrested on Saturday by Central Crime Station (CCS)- a wing of Hyderabad Police, they said.

Sristi and Madhavi, the former's live-in partner, floated Zen Cybertech in March 2008 and allegedly attracted gullible youth stating that they had several projects on hand and they would require a lot of manpower.

When job seekers approached them, they conducted exams and interviews and then asked the candidates to pay Rs 1-1.8 lakh as security deposit, police said adding the candidates were even given job offer letters though there were no projects. When the candidates asked for returning their amount, Sristi threatened them, police said.

Investigations were underway to find out how much amount Chandra Sristi made by cheating job seekers, police said. A hunt has been launched to nab four others involved in the case, they said.
