A Navi Mumbai-based builder was booked for negligence after his lady friend accidentally fired his pistol and sustained a minor injury to her neck.

A Navi Mumbai-based builder was booked for negligence after his lady friend accidentally fired his pistol and sustained a minor injury to her neck.

The Naupada police are on the lookout for Sanpada resident Raj Khandari, 40, who has been booked for negligent or rash act.

According to the police, Khandari and Dipika Dharne, 23, were on their way from Mulund to Thane on Tuesday night in Khandari’s Honda CRV. “They stopped the car on their way to Teen Hath Naka, when Khandari got off to answer nature’s call. Meanwhile, Dharne found the pistol in the car’s CD compartment. She mishandled it and it accidentally fired. The bullet grazed her neck. He rushed her to Jupiter Hospital and she is out of danger. Khandari escaped from the hospital,” said police inspector J D More.
