Unsure of whether the society would accept his extra-marital relationship, a travel agent from Ahmedabad decided to end his life, so that he could reunite with his ladylove in his next birth.
The body of Dinesh Shah (37) was found hanging from a ceiling fan at a rented flat in Kharghar on Thursday. In a three-page suicide note left by him, Shah wrote that he was committing suicide because the society would not accept his relationship with his lover, Prisilla Rajput (27), also married, and that he didn’t want to go back to his wife. He added that he was killing himself so that he could marry her in his rebirth.
Rajput found Shah hanging from the ceiling fan when she went to visit him at the flat in Haware Splendour, Kharghar, around 8 pm on Thursday.
Shah and Rajput had left their houses last month and were staying separately at Kharghar.
While Rajput was married to an autorickshaw driver from Ahmedabad for 10 years and the duo had a seven-year-old daughter, Shah had married 15 years ago and had two sons aged 13 and seven.

{{/usCountry}}“Rajput’s relations with her husband had soured in the last few years as had those of Shah with his wife. The two came close in the past one year,” said Sub-Inspector Arjun Garad.
“The two decided to divorce their spouses and marry. They left their houses on February 28 and came over to Kharghar. Rajput went to stay with her parents and Shah took a flat on rent. The duo met here regularly.”
“Rajput informed us that for the past 10 days, Shah was becoming increasingly frustrated,” said Garad.
According to the police, Rajput had sent a divorce notice to her husband and Shah was to go to Ahmedabad on March 16 to sign the divorce papers.
The police have sent the suicide note to Pune to verify Shah’s handwriting.
