One man died and another sustained serious injuries on Wednesday after a speeding car hit a dumper on the Yamuna Expressway.

According to the police, Gwalior-based businessman Sanjay Sharma was on his way to Delhi in his car with one Manoj Gupta.

The police said Sharma was driving the car and as they crossed the Jewar toll plaza, he lost control of the car and hit the dumper from behind.

They were immediately rushed to Kailash hospital in Greater Noida.

The expressway firm, Jaypee, said the accident was a result of the driver's negligence.
