IN TWO separate incidents today, a man and a woman were allegedly duped. According to police, a BJP worker Harbinder Singh (33), resident of Hanumanganj in Jabalpur, was allegedly been duped by Narendra Tyagi. Tyagi had introduced himself as personal assistant to the Chief Minister a year back and was ever since taking money from Singh in the name of party fund.

Tyagi took a total of Rs 50,000 from time to time. Whenever Singh came to Bhopal, Tyagi met him at BJP’s State office to show himself as a BJP man. It never raised any doubt in Singh’s mind. Three days back, Tyagi again asked for money and car from Singh.

The latter agreed to lend Tyagi his car but did not agree to give any money. Meanwhile, Singh came to know that Tyagi was not PA to the CM. Sensing that Singh had come to know about his identity, Tyagi absconded. Police have registered a case under Section 420 of the IPC against Tyagi, who could not be arrested.

In another incident, two women pretending to be associated with a religious organisation visited the house of Rekha (32), a resident of Pushpa Nagar. Both women promised Rekha to double her ornaments and cash. After she brought and handed over it to the women, they asked the victim to put some rice in the backyard of the house.
