A Delhi court has sentenced a man to seven years' rigorous imprisonment for raping his daughter last year.

Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar found Ishwar Chand guilty of raping his daughter.

The prosecution examined six witnesses during the trial.
According to the prosecution, convict Ishwar Chand, a resident of the Mehrauli area in south Delhi, was a drunkard and used to beat his wife.
On September 19, 2005, the day of the incident, he quarreled with his wife. She immediately left the house to live with her maternal uncle leaving behind her sleeping daughter.
