A man has been arrested for allegedly cheating banks to the tune of crores of rupees by procuring loans using forged documents, police said here on Sunday.

A man has been arrested for allegedly cheating banks to the tune of crores of rupees by procuring loans using forged documents, police said here on Sunday.

The arrested has been identified as Nadeem, a resident of Khatauli town in Muzaffarnagar district, and fake documents, including seals of the Income Tax department, fake address verification seals and papers have been recovered from him, SSP Raghubir Lal said.

Police also recovered three luxury cars from his house in DLF Colony.

During interrogation, Nadeem told police that he had created a bogus finance firm for obtaining loans from various banks, Lal said.
