A tourist guide who allegedly raped a South Korean woman in the Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh was arrested in the neighbouring state of Punjab, police officials said on Monday.

"Devraj was arrested on Sunday from a village in Punjab's Ludhiana district in connection with the rape of a 30-year-old South Korean woman and has been brought back to Kullu," said Kullu police chief GD Bhargava, Monday.
The man had offered to the South Korean tourist a lift on his motorcycle after she missed her bus from Manali on June 30. But instead of helping her catch the bus he took her to a remote place some 280 km from Shimla and raped her, the police alleged.
Soon after the incident, a top official of the South Korean embassy visited the Kullu valley to speed up the investigation.
