A local court on Friday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for looting and murdering a Rajasthani pilgrim in the district in Muzaffarnagar on Friday.
Additional District Session Judge P C Srivastava sentenced the convict Pinto to life imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him.

According to the prosecution, Hamant Aggarwal, a pilgrim from Rajasthan, was on his way to Haridwar from Delhi when Pinto shot him dead and looted his belongings on June 5, 2006.
