A career in rural management is all about upliftment of the rural working and lifestyle through systematic development plans.

You are expected to collect necessary data on topics like illiteracy rate, nourishment rate, development of women and socially-relevant information.

Career Prospects:

There are also opportunities in agencies like the United Nations and its subsidiary social research agencies. All you need is good management skills and high imagination.

Remuneration:
The initial pay packet in this field of work is not as lucrative as other management professions. But there is a tremendous amount of satisfaction achieved in rural work.

One can expect a starting salary somewhere around Rs 12,000-15,000 per month. After you gain more experience, you can consider a shift to a metro or main city for planning and development work as a planner or consultant. By then, your pay package will be quite high.

Like all job opportunities, as one steps higher on the rung, the pay scale reaches above Rs 35,000 per month. And with that kind of pay also comes recognition and loads of travel within the country and abroad.
