Manavjit makes it to Trap finals

Manavjit Sandhu shot 48/50 and qualified for the finals of the Trap event of the ISSF World Cup shooting at Qingyuan in China on Tuesday.

Manavjit shot two rounds of 24 each and was placed seventh after the preliminary round of the competition, according to information received.

Italian Massimo Fabbrizi and Poland's Janne Kirvesmaki were hundred per cent on target finishing the day with a score of 50/50 each.

American Matthew Wallace and Austria's Michael Mittermayr missed a target each in their first qualification rounds to end the day with a score of 49 each.

Manavjit was tied with Czech Republic's David Kostelecky and Portugal's Manuel Silva. Another Indian Birendeep Sodhi shot 25/25 in his first round but lost his concentration in the second round missing three targets to end with 22/25 and was placed way down the leaderboard at the 25th spot with 47 points.

Sodhi's compatriot Anwer Sultan was further down with a total of 45 (22/23).
