CBI counsel, RK Saini, told the court that Mandal has not disclosed where the clothes, which he had worn on the night on the murders, were. He further told the court that his remand was required for the recovery of weapons used in the crime; his blood samples have been sent to FSL at Hyderabad and reports are awaited; recovery of mobile phones; several medical tests are to be conducted on the accused at the CFSL and revelation of important facts related to the case.

Defence counsel Sanjay Tyagi told the court that Mandal had been kept under illegal detention. “He has been subjected to physical and mental torture. The CBI made no recoveries at his instance,” Tyagi said.

After a meeting with his client, Tyagi said Mandal had told him he was being pressurised to give statements against Krishna and Rajkumar. “Mandal has said he had never ever met or seen Rajkumar before,” Tyagi said.

The court ordered his remand extension based on the investigation and the case-diary records.
