MEMBER OF Parliament Akhilesh Yadav, without taking the name of Congress Party and its youth leader Rahul Gandhi, said that the Samajwadi Party had many such youth icons with mass following. He was in the city to attend a program of the Samajwadi Yuvajan Sabha.
Talking to newsmen here on Friday, Yadav said the SP had many such youth leaders with mass followers. Without naming the Congress party, he said, “The party is dead in the State and no youth leader can revive it.”
In a covert attack on the BSP, the SP leader said, “If the Vidhan Sabha elections are held then the SP will have a direct fight with a party which is surviving on donations.”
Replying to a query related to recent attacks on the SP by all political parties, he said all the opponents of the SP were afraid of the SP’s growing popularity.
Commenting on the phone tapping controversy, he said, “The issue is now over as the matter is now in the Supreme Court.”
