Police on Sunday seized Maoist literature inciting people to take up arms against the state in protest against ‘injustice’ and highlighted the failures of the government on various fronts.
Deputy inspector general (anti-naxalite squad) Ravindra Kadam said police were investigating the matter. “No one has been arrested so far,” he said.
Sources said at least 12 pamphlets of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA), the military wing of the CPI (Maoist), were found lying on a roadside bench.
Some RSS workers noticed them and informed the local police.
The pamphlets, which were issued on the occasion of 10th birth anniversary of the PLGA, appealed particularly to the younger generation to join the organisation. They said armed struggle was the only way to stop injustice against the have-nots.
The anti-Maoist squad here said every year the PLGA observed a week-long bandh from December 1, the foundation day. But this year the activities started early because this is the tenth year of the organisation.
The pamphlets were issued by the North Gadchiroli-Gondia border committee of the Maharashtra unit of the organisation. It further stated that people should help it to destroy the police intelligence network of the state government and strengthen its intelligence mechanism.
Maoist pamphlets were found in May this year also.
